History of This Site
I was one of the first members of Tallahassee Freenet in 1992, and I created my first website soon after the World Wide Web was invented. At the time, there were less that 10,000 websites, there were less than 8,000,000 Internet users worldwide, and AOL, MSN,Yahoo, and Google were just a dream.
My personal website on TFN was my first attempt at HTML programming, and the core of that basic website, originally started in 1993, is still hidden deep within this current site. I decided to expand it when I joined Lake Como Club. That expanded site became “Tropical Resort”, which highlighted the nudist clubs in Pasco County, Florida.
Since then I have been very involved in Internet activities, including being part of an Internet Service Provider. My Internet activities have dealt mainly with nudism and nudist sites. I was involved in Nudism.com from 1996 to 1997, and during that period, I started the Nudism Webring and the Nudist Matchmaker. I also served as the first Computer/Email Committee Chairman for FANR and served as a member of the Public Relations, Newsletter, and Internal Affairs Committees.
In early 1998, I began to feel the stress of spending 8 hours a day working a regular job, and 8 hours a night doing Internet related work, and decided to remove myself from all these extra activities. I resigned from all these positions, and fortunately, others were willing to take on the load and continue these projects that I had put so much of myself into.
Dan Vath took over the Nudism Webring and did an admirable job continuing and improving it. My thanks to Dan. There was a story in Nude & Natural Magazine in January, 1999, about the webring and it’s beginnings. The webring started to decline and was adopted by Dennis Kirkpatrick, who merged it and his own Naturism Ring to create the new Naturism and Nudism Web Ring. Thanks to Dennis, It just passed its 10th anniversary.
The Nudist Matchmaker hasn’t fared quite as well, since it was run by non-nudists. There were a lot of nudists using it, over 8000 at the peak, meeting, and falling in love. Unfortunately, it has since been discontinued. When I was running it, I met a lot of wonderful women and didn’t have the time to pursue a relationship due to the workload.
I am just relaxing and enjoying being a user of the Internet now, and not trying to be a driving force in it for a while. My current web activity is Nudist Website Design and my Photography. I also am now going to the clubs again, and starting to meet, in person, all the friends I’ve met online. I’ve been divorced 19 years, and I’m starting to get interested again, so I joined Cypress Cove Singles, became their webmaster, and started the internet cycle again.
