Naturist Beach at Key West a Distinct Probability

May 16, 2009 By: USAnudist Category: Beaches, Club Activities, Nudist News Comments Off

The idea of a naturist beach in Key West is an idea that seems to be popular with everyone.  Preliminary meetings with members of the Key West and Monroe County governments have been positive with members of the City and County Commissions both saying they would support a designated clothing optional beach.  This support also appears to be widespread among Key West business owners.

Richard Mason,  President of Florida Naturist Association and founding member of South Florida Free Beaches, has been involved in these discussions from the beginning stages.  Mason presented Haulover Beach in Dade County as an example of what a successful nude beach can do for tourism in an area.

Local tourism-based business are heavily behind the idea with nearly 80% supporting the idea of a clothing optional beach in a survey distributed by Key West Innkeeper’s Association President Ian Whitney to the owners of guesthouses, retailers, restaurants and attractions.

American River Skinny-Dipping

May 15, 2009 By: USAnudist Category: Nudist News, Springs Lakes & Rivers Comments Off

Auburn Journal writer makes a comment about nude use on American River in California.

People Who Wear Blinders Need to Wake Up!!

I have just one thing to say about all this Attention that is being given to the nudist community that uses a certain part of the American River. Get over it folks! That part of the river has been used by this particular group of people for MORE THAN 30 YEARS. I was born and raised in this town. I’ve known about that beach my ENTIRE LIFE. It’s not new to those of us who have lived here most or all of our lives. In fact this beach is quite famous among nudists. This region of the river just happens to be VERY Hard to get too, Its not easily viewed from ANY other area of the river and until recently it wasn’t a problem. My solution to this problem , go rafting on another section of the river and leave the people who come to our area just for that beach alone.

Our gas stations appreciate their business so does the hospitality industry, all of our service industry depends on the money that’s brought in by tourism. These folks are tourists. If you dont want to see them in their “God-given” state then stay away from that area.

There are miles and miles of river here. Why can’t we all SHARE the beauty of the region. Why should “WE” have to stop using an area of the river that has been used for this purpose longer than most Auburn residents have been here. If you don’t like it move. The nudist communitee won’t be moving to another area of the river this is the most private spot and like I said it’s been there for more than 30 years. Our answer to the problem, don’t look and go to another section of the river. Or you all can put your blinders back on.
