Key West Next?

March 27, 2009 By: USAnudist Category: Beaches, Nudist News Comments Off

Looking at the unparalleled success of Haulover Beach as America’s premiere clothing optional beach, it’s amazing that many more such endeavors haven’t materialized.  Tampa Area Naturists has been attempting for 15 years to promote the idea in the Tampa Bay area with little success so far.  Now it looks as if the next major Florida clothing optional beach may be in Key West.  Recently, meetings were held in Key West promoting the idea, with what appears to be considerable local support.

Richard Mason, President of the Florida Naturist Association, and was instrumental in the conversion of Haulover Beach from eyesore to the jewel of Dade County beaches, is also involved in the Key West Free Beach project.  There are already many clothing optional possibilities in Key West, but a free beach will bring many more people to the area, and allow a place for families who don’t want to go to the other, more adult places available.

With the expertise of Richard and the others who fought the battles in Miami nearly 20 years ago, and the liberal climate in Key West, I expect to be promoting a new nude beach soon.  If you’re interested in helping the cause, please contact Key West Free Beaches and offer your support.

Red Bull Ad Set At Nude Beach
Red Bull
In the latest ad for Red Bull, a young woman offers a young man a Red Bull drink and he graciously accepts. Like previous commercials in the series, the commercial consists of tasteful hand-drawn pen-and-ink cartoons. The ending is, perhaps, a bit risqué, but the overall messaging is quite positive … right down to the fact that the story takes place on a family-oriented nude beach complete with children building sandcastles and chasing beach balls with tactfully placed poses.
