PayPal Cancels Subscription Service
After four years of processing subscription payments for Going Natural magazine, PayPal has cancelled service to the magazine’s publisher, the Federation of Canadian Naturists (FCN). Attempts to get an explanation of how Going Natural violates PayPal’s “acceptable use” policy have met with generic replies which state that the decision was made due to “sexually oriented goods or services involving minors” or “services for which the purpose is to facilitate meetings for sexually oriented activities.” The FCN is not the first naturist organization to be rejected by PayPal, which arbitrarily denies service to persons or organizations it deems socially unacceptable. Going Natural magazine is devoted to nudism, whose practices the magazine has portrayed for over 20 years. Read more at PayPal.

Curtis Promotes Body Acceptance in AARP Magazine
A topless Jamie Lee Curtis in a swimming pool graces the cover of the May/June issue of AARP The Magazine. Curtis, once known for her fabulous body early in her career, says she is comfortable growing older. Curtis’ decision to pose topless for the magazine stemmed from her desire to bring some attention to her belief that everyone should try to “age wisely and well.” This isn’t the first photo shoot where Curtis has challenged the definition of beauty. In 2002, she posed for More magazine in her underwear without makeup and stylists, complete with sagging belly and heavy thighs, looking more like an average woman than a glamorous actress. Curtis, who turns 50 this year, says, “If I can challenge the old ideas about aging, I will feel more and more invigorated.” Read more at Jamie Lee Curtis.

Photobucket Reverses Decision on “Nude” Photos
Photo sharing site Photobucket has reversed its decision banning babies in their diapers from appearing on its site. The company, a subsidiary of Fox Interactive, originally removed hundreds of images because they depicted “nudity,” which supposedly threatened the safety and security of its users. The ban started when U.S.-based company Good Mama Diapers sponsored a photo contest on Photobucket. Submissions were posted on the site, but when Jessica Thornton of Good Mama Diapers logged on to view them, they had all been taken down. Thornton e-mailed Photobucket to find out what happened and she was told that the site recently changed its content policies regarding images of children and the photos violated the new policy. However, within hours of being contacted by CNET News.com, the content moderation manager at Photobucket restored the images. Read more at Photobucket.
