Nudism and the Economy
Much has been reported recently about the lack of young people (18-35) in nudist resorts. One of the many things attributed to this is that young adults are in the process of getting established, with budding careers, families, and a lack of disposable income to spend.
Many nudist resorts have made attempts at welcoming this age group
by advertising special rates, events specifically designed for that age group, and other incentives to participate.
Recently, Lake Como Family Nudist Resort created a”Nude Nightlife Membership”. This special-value membership includes entry after 4 pm daily and you may enjoy full use of Lake Como’s many amenities such as the pool and hot tub.
The Special Introductory Nude Nightlife membership cost is only $99 a year for a limited time. Nude Nightlife members do not pay entry or grounds fees. The only catch is that you must be an AANR member, and will be required to sign a nudity pledge as a condition for admittance. This will give everyone the comfort of not feeling like they are the floor show for folks wearing clothes.
Cypress Cove Resort has taken another direction. In addition to their popular Young Nudist Weekend rate of $5.00 per person, they are also starting a new Special Offer Two Week Pass just $50 Per Person.
Owner, Ted Hadley, says “We have a lot of visitors who stay in the area but not actually at Cypress Cove. For those visitors, we have created a new Special Offer, come as often as you like for up to two weeks for just $50 per person. This can be a huge savings if you visit often. Offer applies to day visits only, not overnight stays.”
For the really bargain-minded, Fairwinds Lake is offering, for a limited time, to
extend the use of their facilities for NO fee whatsoever, NO grounds fee, either. And no AANR membership required. Just come out and see the beautiful grounds. They offer a
clubhouse that could be used for potlucks, gatherings, bonfires, and just a general place to get away from it all. It is screened in, with restrooms, tables, chairs, and outside picnic
benches. Plans are for a swimming pool and hottub in the future. http://www.fairwindlakes.com
On the negative side of the effect of the economy on nudist resorts, Caliente Resort has been allowing members of surrounding nudist clubs to come for free Karaoke every week. They recently have decided to start charging for these vists. In the future, to visit their bars/restaurants, and sing Karaoke, will cost a lot more than the already inflated food and drink prices. Single men must be AANR members and will be charged $35; single women will be charged $25; couples will be charged $25/person. This is in addition to a major increase in membership fees recently at both Caliente and Paradise Lakes Resorts.
This seems counterproductive unless your only goal is to make as much profit as you can and get out before it crashes. Thank goodness there are still clubs like Como and Cypress Cove looking out for members rather than the bank account.
