Cypress Cove Sponsors Raffle to Benefit ANRL
The American Nudist Research Library (ANRL), located on the grounds of Cypress Cove Nudist Resort & Spa in Kissimmee, Florida, is going digital to preserve nudist history dating back to the 1930s and earlier for future generations. Cypress Cove is offering a vacation prize package valued in excess of $4,000 as part of a fundraiser to convert the massive holdings of the library into digital form. The package will include 30 nights in a villa apartment, plus all grounds fees, golf cart rental, and coupons to be used around the resort. The prize can be divided into multiple segments. Each $5 donation counts as one entry. Checks should be made payable to ANRL but submitted to AANR, 1703 North Main Street, Kissimmee, FL 34744. Entries must be received by November 2, 2007. Find out more about the library project and its collection plus links of interest to other nudist websites at ANRL.

Shakespeare in the Buff
Shakespeare’s plays have been interpreted in many different ways, and nudity is not uncommon in theater productions, but an all-nude production of Macbeth by a serious Shakespeare troupe is drawing interest from critics and theatergoers, reports USA Today. While not everyone in the audience is comfortable with the nudity on display throughout the entire play despite its non-sexual nature, it forces viewers to reevaluate their own values. “Clothes remain primary signifiers of an individual’s place in a culture, so once apparel is cast aside, social boundaries become less clear,” writes reviewer Celia Wren. Macbeth closes a six-month Shakespeare festival in Washington. Read more at Macbeth. |
