SUBJECT: Cape Cod National Seashore, Massachusetts
TO : All Naturists
Dear Naturist,
This is an Advisory from the Naturist Action Committee concerning Cape
Cod National Seashore (CCNS), and specifically Longnook Beach.
Another blow has been struck against nudism thanks to one foolish person. The tactless wonder decided to come from Arizona to Battleboro on his vacation and walk naked through a downtown event.
What was once treated as a “kids will be kids” attitude about public nudity is now being touted in the news as a threat from “nudists” to overrun their town. The actions of this one individual have escalated a situation that might easily have been a positive for nudism and turned it into a perceived threat. His behavior is not that of the typical nudist.
We have a responsibility as nudists and naturists to present our lifestyle in a positive manner, knowing when and where nudity is appropriate and legal. The absence of a law prohibiting nudity does not always justify being naked. Common sense and reason must be applied in these situations or we will find ourselves fighting a public relations wave against nudism that will overwhelm all the previous efforts to promote it as a reasonable choice of recreation.
Brattleboro outlaws public nudity
10:28 a.m.
July 18, 2007
BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (AP) - A split town Select Board has outlawed public nudity in parts of the community.
By a vote of 3-2, the board Tuesday passed an emergency ordinance that could bring a $100 fine for not wearing clothes on the town’s main roads.

SUBJECT: Huntington Beach, California
TO: All Naturists
Dear Naturist,
This is an Update from the Naturist Action Committee concerning a
proposed anti-nudity ordinance for the City of Huntington Beach,
California.
As anticipated, an ordinance targeting naturists was introduced at the
July 16 meeting of the Huntington Beach City Council. By a unanimous
vote of 7-0, council members have chosen to allow the ordinance to
move forward. The measure, which has been assigned Number 3773, could
not have been voted into law at the meeting; it was simply allowed to
continue the approval process. The proposed ordinance receives its
next council consideration in a meeting scheduled for August 6, 2007.

SUBJECT: Huntington Beach, California
TO : All Naturists
Dear Naturist,
This is an Action Alert from the Naturist Action Committee concerning an
important situation in the state of California.
The police chief of the City of Huntington Beach has requested that the
City Council adopt a new ordinance targeting “naturists,” a term the
Chief has used specifically in asking for new power to cite and arrest.
The rest of the western world looks with disdain at the puritanical preoccupation our society has with nude bodies. This obsession, verging on pure idiocy, is making us the laughing stock of the world.
Here is another example of the hysteria that is becoming all too prevalent as extreme conservatism and political correctness skew the perceptions promoted in the media and provide yet another opportunity for the rest of the world to chuckle at our quaint behaviour.
A US based book publisher refuses to print a book containing a drawing of an art gallery with nudes. The German author refuses to agree to delete the drawing and says she will only allow the publisher to black out the images to make it obvious that they have been censored.
It is sad that the publisher is willing to bow to the possibility of receiving a few complaints about a harmless image being seen as offensive at the expense of freedom of expression and rational attitudes about nudity.
Paradise Lakes Nudist Resort sold
By Marcia Stone, Pasco Naturally Editor July 5 2007
Paradise Lakes Resort, touted as America’s premier clothing-optional nudist resort, is being sold by Joe Lettelleir to nudist John Forier who has lived at Paradise Lakes for the past two and a half years.
Lettelleir made the announcement at the Paradise Lakes Condominium Association general meeting on June 30.
There are going to be many changes at the resort, according to Forier, who promised more details on Wednesday, July 11 when all details are finalized.
Although Forier has the same business challenges as Lettelleir had regarding the 26-year-old establishment, there is much hope of a widespread renewal of Paradise Lakes, which has five community associations.
“I feel John will be able to revive Paradise with needed capital and expansion. I am excited for the prospect of the future of Paradise Lakes,” said Joe Lettelleir.
Paradise Lakes Condominium Association President Gloria Ponn is looking forward to working with John Forier. “I feel he will be an asset to our community. He is a nudist and understands our lifestyle.”
“I’m happy to hear it, I’m delighted. It will be progress for nudists. In my travels to other resorts it has always seemed a better fit when a nudist was the owner,” says The Fountains Association President Victoria Stewart.
PLCA Vice President Bob Moore, who worked closely with Lettelleir, said, “I’m very delighted that John has bought it and I know it’s for the betterment of Paradise. John has already spoken to me about restoring the lakeside area and I know the residents will be pleased about this development.”
The Villages of Paradise Lakes Association Secretary Dwight Mitchell said, “I can give you my comment in one word, YAHOO!”
The nudist lifestyle is alive and well in Pasco County with the largest concentration of nudists in North America. Other area resorts include Caliente Resort & Spa, The Oasis, Lake Como Family Nudist Resort, Gulf Coast Nudist Resort and The Island Group.
The 15 acre Paradise Lakes resort has a current taxable value of $1,186,629, according to the Pasco Appraiser’s Office.

Nude book signing planned by author
Published: Sunday, Jul. 8, 2007
Nashua Telegraph WAITSFIELD, Vt. (AP) – At The Tempest Book Shop, the paperback books won’t be the only things without jackets Thursday.
A “clothing optional” book signing event will be held by nudity author Jim C. Cunningham, with customers invited to leave their clothes at the door.
“The reason for this is to ‘put our bodies where our mouths are,’ living what we preach,” Cunningham said. “The public are invited to express their solidarity with our message by also donning their birthday suits upon entering the book store.”
Cunningham’s 596-page “Nudity & Christianity” book contains no pictures.

The Great Naked Debate is a new series that brings some of the top seven nudist bloggers together, offering you a different perspective in one place on a number of key naturist issues. For this third installment, 2 of our panelists are absent, probably because its now summer vacation time in the northern hemisphere. Nevertheless, the remaining five address a serious topic, one which has generated a lot of polemic recently, and one which can’t be answered in just one sentence. Tom Mulhall of the Terra Cotta Inn provided us with the question:
What can be done to attract younger people to the nudist lifestyle?
