Nudists and Naturists in the Making? More Naked College Parties
CBS channel 3 out of Philadelphia reports in a news video, that the College Naked Party is still going strong. Reports of these parties surfaced last month after a story in a New York magazine. Interviewing a Penn student who had attended naked parties in an off-campus house, they interspersed hidden camera video by The Insider at an undisclosed location.
Some attribute the adventures in nakedness to Tabloids and Hollywood’s bad influences, but Chris Fariello, a sex therapist, thinks otherwise.
“I think people aren’t going to these parties because they want to experience others. I think they’re going to express themselves and this is a great way for them to come out of their shell or express side of them they don’t normally get to express may never get another chance like that,” said Fariello.
There is no reason they can’t experience this side of themselves again. Nudists do it all the time. The students just need our help in knowing how and where. This sounds like an ideal way for the nudist & naturist organizations to make an inroad into the MySpace generation. Start sponsoring college town parties, and at the same time provide information about nudism. Even if most of them are just doing it for a fling or a test of themselves, some might just decide to try a club, resort, or nude beach.
From my opinion of the Penn student interviewed, the parties often follow strict self-imposed rules of conduct, so the transition might not be too much for clubs to overcome. He seems to have the proper attitudes already, and I’m sure many of the other students in attendence feel the same.
“The way it was billed was don’t be a prude, come to the nude party,” said a Penn student who did not want to be identified.
“It’s a very clever set up. It’s a house with four stories,” said the student.
He says the first floor is for people with clothes, the 2nd floor is underwear and the third and fourth floor are reserved for those who choose to bare all.
“I just went wearing a hat, a bow tie and an overcoat, so I went straight to the 3rd floor,” explained the student.
“I just don’t think there’s anything to be ashamed about with human body, wanted to be in a situation where people were comfortable with themselves and wanted to be natural.”
If you’re club is in a college town and wants younger members, this might be a good way to get their attention.
