Naturist Rochester plans nude art show
Rochester Democrat and Chronicle
An art event on Sunday will feature two artists painting seven nude models.
At “The Human Canvas,†in the Visual Studies Workshop auditorium, each model will get a layer of paint and adhesive objects, parade on a runway and then return for the next airbrushing. After seven or eight layers, he or she will resemble a force of nature such as Mother Earth, fire, birth or death.
The display of body art is sponsored by Naturist Rochester, an 80-member group that promotes nude recreation and acceptance of body diversity.
The group expects participants from Buffalo and Syracuse, as well as local members of Naturist Rochester. Nude audience members at 31 Prince St. will get a break in price. Reservations cost $10 for attired spectators, $8 for nude visitors. (Admission is $12 at the door, with discounts for students and accompanied children.)
Doors at 31 Prince St. open at 1:30 p.m. and the show starts at 2 p.m. To purchase tickets or for details, call (585) 244-1219 or send an e-mail to treasurer@naturistrochester.org.
